"ONCE" an eMIRATi Girl was looking for LOVE

Khaleejia said: Recently, at night  switching the tv channels I came across a strange movie. , it seemed so unusual as it was not a show, a documentary movie or  a soup opera. It was a movie (shortie)... about modern Emirati girl - a teenager.
synopsis: Two girlfriends (they are all emirati) sitting in a cafe inside the moll and discussing their problems.."girly problems" .. and suddenly  one of them shoooooocked me! "OMG! what had i just heard?? Ok, come down and keep watching",-I said to myself... and it was after i had something like "OMG! What ve i just seen?" heh... Well... may be  because I did not expect to hear and see that stuff  from the screen!  Finaly i liked it somehow.

Yeah it is short film, but there are many things to impress.

Here is the
SYNOPSIS
The film revolves around the day Hamda, a young Arab teenager, plans to meet her boyfriend Saeed for the first time. The film shows the journey Hamda goes through to see Saeed for half an hour. The journey shows Hamda's best friend Amna covering for her, Hamda lying to her father, Hamda going to the hair salon transforming herself from a young girl into a beautiful young woman and then traveling to her date with the excitement of meeting and fear of getting caught. Hamda thrives on excitement yet knows the big risk she is taking by seeing Saeed for the first time. Hamda and Saeed get to meet, however not all goes to plan.

Better if you  watch this movie yourself. I can only say one thing, Nayla Al Khaja- an Emirati Writer / Director / Producer, is becoming more and more controversial director. she raises social issues of the Emirati/ Arab/ Gulf society. Many criticize her for it, but I think that if society is to hide their ailments, they will just rot  becoming worse and worse. Please leave here your opinion and comments on the fav. parts of the movie  after watching it ..Thank you!

Amal Salem-sama dubai presenter

Khaleejia said: i made these both videos- cuts from "al-mrsa" and layali romadan programs aired on sama dubai 2010 . i hope you will enjoy more. She is talented, modest and very pretty. Also i like her taste and how she presents herself on tv with self-esteem.  Now you can watch her on Sama Dubai while some time ago she was as presenter on nojoom4 or noor dubai channel (actually i don’t remember well) ,and there she was receiving some greeting massages and calls from people and introducing songs and poems. As it was not the first country channel she was not so serious there and looked more pretty smiling all the time.  this .gif picture i made from that program.
my amal18

Now her popularity is growing and i believe she will be one of the most successful among women TV presenters on emarati channels.
on this video you can see her in “Layali Ramadan” program where she is dressed in the best for Eid abayat.

Shopping in Dubai

Khaleejia said: A wonderful program about shopping in Dubai.

Shopping and spending time at the malls is a very popular activity with many people in the UAE. I love it too for sure!  In this country  where the weather is unbearably hot half of the year shopping malls present good conditions for spending time "outside" of the house :)  Although still in-doors there's a lot of space for walking -can you believe some people jog in the malls in the mornings? :)  Dubai Mall has a skating rink and aquarium, in the Mall of the Emirates you can go skiing. Ibn Battuta Mall has a beautiful interior design and museum expositions. Several malls have cinema. All malls have a variety of coffee shops, fast food and quality restaurants with world most famous cuisines.  Children enjoy going to the Malls too - pop-corn, ice-cream, sweets and playgrounds :)

Emirati Women Today (watch on line)

Khaleejia said:  "Emirati"- a TV show I wrote already about  made an episode dedicated to the role of women in modern Emirati society. I really enjoyed this episode. I believe this the way it should be- Muslim women should be an active member of the society. They  should be free to choose their career and path in life, pursue their dreams.   A woman should  have this choice: dedicate herself to family only or balance both family and career in her life or maybe some women will prefer only work- this is all an individual choice and every woman should be given this opportunity to choose for herself.

While there's been a big progress in the UAE there are still many things to be done for women (like more ladies clubs for example lol)

Another Cool Emirati Cartoon!!! "Khoosa Boosa" خوصه بوصه

Khaleejia said: Khoosa Boosa is an old game Khaleeji children played in the past. And it's the name of a new 3-D cartoon about Emirati lifestyle!
Khoosa Boosa is a new cartoon shown on Sama Dubai this Ramadan. It's about Emirati lifestyle! Everything in the cartoon is exactly how it is in real life of average UAE locals! And that's why it maybe difficult to understand for people outside Emirati society... nevertheless some things can be understood without translation and explanation:)

Enjoy the cartoon!

And there's even one more new cartoon consisting of short parts about health and healthy life style in Khaleeji families :)
